I really enjoyed this place. I have done take out before and sat in the lounge on a Friday night. I've only eaten shrimp which was delicious (I feel I got more for takeout than dine in though) but it was still enjoyable. I really like the atmosphere. It's a mature crowd and entertaining. They had Karaoke that night and it was enjoyable to listen to all; good or bad they were all entertaining. The place was packed and our waitress was very accommodating, coming back to check on us and not too much of a wait to order additional rounds. I would recommend this place for a good night out. It was quiet loud on the lounge side so be mindful if that's an issue for you.

Have you ever tried wings covered in Ole Bay? It's only one of many reasons why I love this restaurant.

This review is being written by a guy who enjoys tipping and has been known to complain when an establishment DOES NOT allow tips. However, this AUTOMATIC gratuity system that is in place here is bullshit and needs to be done away with henceforth! So let me set the scene for you so you'll know why I feel this way. I came here last evening with my date who is from Maryland but not Baltimore so I'm always eager to impress her with my hang out spots. So this was the worst time to receive such poor service but that is just what happened. I won't go into the myriad of details I'll just skip ahead to the main event, when our check came we were being charged for an item that yes my date ordered but never received, and looking out for my best interest I guess, asked that it be removed from the final tally. Our server who all evening was quite the combative little firecracker appeared a bit skeptical and seemed to suggest that perhaps my date "forgot" she had eaten it! So now I'm sensing a blowup coming on and I want no part of this man, I just want to pay and get out of there, but in the sternest tone I've ever heard her use, my companion issued me a "Don't you dare" and over the next minute was able to systematically and categorically prove that the item never arrived, at least not at our table. And finally the server relented and the charge was begrudgingly removed. So my point about automatic tipping is what incentive does the server have to give you her "A+" package of service? and its already a victory for her knowing you will be giving her something extra no matter how she treats you. But the worst thing of all is how this poor service had a lingering effect even after we left the joint. My date who had been in a great mood on the way here, for example, flirting with me in her coyish style that I love, and rubbing the back of my neck, was now nowhere near in the same frame of mind and was not in a particularly "giving" mood after we left this place and got back to my crib and I'm blaming our time spent here for that! So by my rationale this joint should compensate me by either, A- Immediately make available to me a female member of my choosing from the wait staff to make up for my missed opportunity last evening, or B- Credit me that portion of the bill that I spent on my original date that I brought here in the first place and that you all so effectively ruined. Since this business will probably not be exercising any of those options, I have no choice but to boycott this joint for the next 6 months or until such time as the automatic gratuity system has been dismantled. Thank You for your time gentleman, and GOOD DAY!

I've been here a few times and I've enjoyed the food and drinks. I went there for karaoke twice and both times I had a blast with my friends, the crowd is older (say 35+) but you'll enjoy your time there. Parking can be a pain, so get there as early as you can. The side dishes are ehh, I'll pass on them, but the main dishes are tasty.

OMG!! I went there with a friend of mine on June 6, 2015. The food was so good!! This is my fourth time coming here and every time I come, I usually leave with half of my food in the tray. This time, I ordered catfish and fries and I only left with one piece of catfish, I also like that they serve real ice cream, not that fake ice milk crap. Also, our waiter, Tina-Marie was very courteous. she made sure we were satisfied with our food. And for the prices, you get more than your monies worth. I will make this my no. 1 spot to eat at.

Windsor Inn Crab House is a great find- obviously been in the same place for a long time and that means something! Good drinks, good food and great service-if you want noise and a hundred led screens the lounge is for you- if you want a quieter sit down on regular height chairs the dining room is for you. And if you like to sit watching traffic on Windsor Mill Road the outdoor dining is probably nice in the right season. We both had chicken - fried and greek roasted and they were both excellent. Not fancy just good- the salad bar is good and the soups are homemade. We'll be back.

I like it and I'll be back. I had lunch at the Windsor Inn on Tuesday and was impressed. This is no fancy-schmancy upscale restaurant, but the crab cake was actually quite wonderful. My friend had the lunch buffet and went back for seconds. The waitresses were quite friendly and the restaurant was filled with people who appeared to be regulars. Yes, it's a little worn around the edges, the veggies were salty and the salad bar is limited, but there's something about this place that makes me want to come back, sit at the bar and hang out for a few hours. I actually think it's worth the long, yucky drive from DC for good food at very reasonable prices.

One word.... Ghetto People were playing spades at multiple tables. Two people even sat down at the table me and my guy were sitting at. Weird. The New York strip, I must say, was excellent but the shrimp were drenched in nasty bbq sauce(dare I say kfc)!!! I give the two stars for the steak because it deserves to be acknowledged. Other than that, thumbs down!!

Most Baltimoreans know that the Windsor is one of the best places to go for crabcakes. Their actual crabs are horrible though. I don't understand how this is possible for a crab house. The salad bar is awesome! The pastas are good. Another top item here is the crab dip. Food portions are a good size. The service in the restaurant and bar parts is good but the customer service sucks big time in the carryout part which is a major turnoff for the place. Karaoke night is pretty funny and entertaining. There is parking around the building but spaces are limited especially in the front. Check this place out.

They have some of the best food in Maryland. I only eat and enjoy their cream of crab soup! No one touch theirs. It's huge lumps of crab meat and it's so cheap but taste like 5 star quality

Poor service, waited 15 to 20 minutes for check to be picked up in near empty dinning room. "Service" staff too busy chatting between themselves. Mediocre food.

Awful service, awful waitress's. They are thieves! Unprofessional, and ridiculous. If you care about not being robbed by a waitress, who overcharges you, then fights you about it, don't go here. This is was my first and last time here. Now I see why. Plus it smells like old bleach water.

The Windsor Inn is excellent. Visited over Christmas Holidays and the place was packed with fun people. On a Sunday night, get ready for some delicious seafood. The waitress that helped us, Terry, was wonderful. She was kind and accomodating even after our meal was complete. The crab cake and fried shrimp entree w/ string beans was great. Aside from this, the drinks were delicious as well. It was a wonderful time, and I hope to go again.

I love this place. It was my first time going yesterday and I definitely plan on going back. The waitress that helped my friend and I was really informative about the menu and polite. The food was incredible and it was $1.00 crab night....AMAZING. The Southwest Rolls are soooo good. Everything was great...Kim is so nice and pretty and amazing. The people were friendly. I liked the fact that it was an older crowd.

Chicken wings are amazing and served late into the night while listening to gangsta music! The girls are voluptuous and Sarah the bartender is hot. Karaoke every Tuesday. Make sure to order the wonder woman drink for $10 and get annihilated. Tips are already included in the tab

Been to Windsor Inn many times before and the one thing that I can say is that the food is ALWAYS good!!! Never had a bad meal at the place, which is why they get 2 stars. This particular occasion I dined on braised short ribs with mashed potatoes. In a group of people that got steaks and crabcakes, all the attention was on my plate. Like I said the food is ALWAYS good. It's everything else about the place stinks. Issue 1 - Parking: Went earlier tonight with my mother to a holiday gathering she had there. We arrived around 7:30 pm to ZERO parking in the lot. This is a pretty much a nightly occurrence as the bar is a popular hangout with local professionals and apparently thugs (been a coupla shootings here). Issue 2 - Service: As a person who works in the industry, I see an empty, yes, despite a ful parking lot, outside of our group of about 20, the restaurant was litterally empty, as an opportunity to wow my guests with attentive service. It took 45 minutes and recognition that I did not have a drink in front of me like everyone else for our server to get me the coke that I had ordered. Plus the servers are in the terrible habit of reaching over people to serve food. Big no-no in my book. Issue 3 - Safety: See end of issue 1 Basically if you want a great meal, can suffer through less that mediocre service and can avoid the nightly crowds by going early then give the place a try. Cause in the end a restaurant is about the food and Windsor Inn does do food well.

I so agree with the last post. Unfortunately I think the food is slipping from what it used to be years ago, but the crab cakes are still pretty good. However, I am not sure how their parking lot and establishment becomes very seedy after hours...seriously what is the attraction here? Too bad they don't deliver because I refuse to go up there on weekend nights because of their issues.

I get nostalgic about this place because I have been going here on and off since I was 18 and although I look so very youthful in my profile pictures, the age of 18 was a longlong 2 da longlong time ago...Like ya know, 2 years ago or something like that. ANYWAY all that to say that this is the one review you will need to read about this place to make your judgment on. This spot which we locals affectionately call "The Windsor" has a back dining section that maybe seats about 15 tables of 4 comfortably but let's be honest, no one comes here to "fine dine" it's all about the LOUNGE! In fact, the lounge section entrance is what faces the street (carryout as well) so these two should be all you would want to be concerned with. I come here as opposed to Corinthian's when I want food and drink specials (Corinthian's is about two blocks up the street that all locals make a choice between with Windsor Inn when debating Windsor Mill Rd lounging...see my review for that as well) If your age has a 2 in front of it, you may consider coming here during the weekend to get your dance on and be amongst more folk your age. Music is cool but be advised this is far from a club so the dance floor section is tiny...but there's mirrors there for you boogie down narcissists =) Sundays used to be Reggae Nights and were for the reggae heads and more mature but as more age 2-s invaded, it became a little more mainstreamed with less and less reggae. I hope they go back to how it used to be. Windsor used to be great for $1 crab nights 3x a week and during the football season on Sundays. The crabs have since went downhill (as in sending people down the hall to the nearest restroom) in recent years so I'm not sure where they've been getting them from but Windsor has lost a lot of it's mature crowd visitors desiring cheap crab eats after a hard day at work. I will say Fridays are cool for karaoke. Happy hour specials for drinks are cool but mainly on wings because THE WINGS ARE BIZZOMB SON! If you have to get anything out of here get that..but my fave dish? The appetizer sampler that comes with 2 crab balls, 3 large shrimp, 3 mozzarella sticks all for the low low price of $9.99 *pow* One more thing...parking in the lot is fine during the week but if you go on popular weekend nights for partying, uhh good luck with that! (Although you can park across the street in another business' lot section without worrying about towing)

Great crabs, a nice bar and loads of fun! I went with a group of 10 friends. None of us were in the mood for karaoke and we all thought that we'd made a mistake by asking to sit in the bar area. How quickly that changed! By the end of the night, we were happily stuffed, singing at the top of our lungs along with the karaoke singers, watching the PPV fight and taking club pics! I have to disagree with some of the other reviewers. We went on a Saturday night and the crowd wasn't young at all (which was a great thing!). The crabs and buffalo shrimp were delicious and our server, Sue, was FANTASTIC!! For those wondering how the Windsor Inn differs from Corinthians, the answer is simple: it doesn't. They are essentially the same place and I learned that the reason is that they are owned by the same people. You can't lose with either one!

This place was awsome!!!!! I went here this oast Saturday on my bday (9/8 shout out to all Virgos) and I was pleasantly surprised. I went from DC to Baltimore to enjoy an all-u-can-eat crab spot. And Im usually very skeptical about these type spots because many times tey offer all these crabs but they're small and have very little meat in them. But not The Windsor...these crabs were so good and large sized and our waitress kept em coming. I know I ate a good 20 crabs damn near. But on top of the crabs you get the all-u-can-eat salad bar and they evven throw in 5 grilled chicken wings for you. ALL of this from just $27 bucks, you cannot beat that with a bat! I was so amazed cause everything was quality eatin. I will be back and Im bringing all my DC folk with me!

I am from Philadelphia and everytime I come to Maryland during the summer I must get a crab cake from here. I first had Windsor Inn in 2007 for take out I have been addicted since. I will always come here for their exceptional crab cake its a must have!!!! N THEIR CRAB SOUP IS SOOOO GOOD!

The food, esp the crabs/crab cakes are AMAZING! That's why I give them a 4 star rating. The Inn, where there is a dance floor and bar...that is the pitts! It attracts a rowdy crowd, lame men w/ no money or careers, who think they are ballers. So not a hot spot. Don't waste your time going here. You will regret it, Trust me. And you'll prob get strong-armed by a very unattractive guy if you are a girl...stay away.

Last Saturday affirmed why I stopped patronizing this restaurant. I dine out frequently and I know sub-par service when I experience it. I attended a bridal shower with roughly thirty people. The servers repeatedly reached over the folks on one side of our table to give the folks on the other side their plates. No "Excuse me." or any other form of etiquette. We had to Ask for refills, and hunt the server down when we needed anything. Second to a server a few years back this is the most awful server I have ever experienced. One lady's credit card was declined and the server came to the table, positioned herself at the head of the table, held up the card and asked "Whose card is this?" then announced that the card had been declined. I was embarrassed for the lady and gave the server a few choice words at that point but she could not have cared less. The rub is that server is reportedly one of the owners. To be fair my food was good-just a chicken caesar salad and a jolly rancher. Everyone else said the crabcakes were good but I dont care for them. The women's bathroom was stuffy and stinky. I will never go to the Windsor Inn again; poor service nullifies a good meal to me. As for the bar/club area...sigh...I cant recall ever enjoying partying with a bunch of twenty somethings banging to a bunch of stripper music. Windsor Inn= never again

While showing its age a bit, the Windsor Inn remains a relatively solid restaurant. Known for its crabcakes, it has a bit of the old world Baltimore (County) charm. Unfortunately, it also has a bit of the Baltimore rough spots too. Although my dad and I visited for lunch and it wasn't particularly busy, we had a bit of a wait to be seated. Our server came over and took our drink and meal orders promptly, but the actual meals took quite awhile to be delivered, and she never came back to check on us or to refill our beverages. The food itself- not bad at all. My dad's crabcake was full of meat, not filler, and was tender and juicy. It could have used a bit more Old Bay, but otherwise was very good. Fries were unremarkable, but fine. My fried seafood platter was good enough, although I would have preferred a piece of fish or oysters instead of the clam strips. It also came with only 2 fried shrimp. They were large, but 2?? The soup and salad bar- also just ok. The salad bar had lettuce, cucumber, cheese, peppers, beets, cole slaw, and bacon bits (no eggs or any of the other fancy fixings). Soup was of course MD crab, and it was good- not much crab meat, but a nice selection of veggies and potatoes. As is common with many restaurants now, gratuity is included. I don't mind this, but I think restaurants should have a sign posted somewhere so patrons don't end up double tipping. And of course, I wonder if that's why service is mediocre, when servers know that they will get a tip regardless. But that's another conversation. A-ok, Windsor Inn.

The restaurant side has looked the same for the last 20 years doesn't look like they have made one upgrade. Yet the lounge side has expanded quite a bit with the added televisions and tables. On this visit I chose to sit on the quiet side so I could converse with my dinner companion. When I entered the restaurant, the welcome by the hostess or manager (I think she played both roles) was not very warm and our waitress did not even Crack a smile during our entire visit. You could hear all the rambling from the lounge area but I felt it comforting it gave the stale environment we were in some character and gave us something to look at. The buffet was nice and fresh as always I my salad was very good and there were plenty of salad dressings to choose from. I love their crab soup it is a tomato based soup with little crab claws, always hits the spot and I never leave feeling guilty since it is very healthy to eat. My entree , I had the stuffed shrimp which was topped with crabmeat and it was decent. The french fries were terrible it had the taste of old grease. Not a terrible experience but I think I will get my food to go next time.

Called before getting to the restaurant regarding their crab special, was told that there was a special, they had crabs and it ended at eleven. We arrive shortly after and found some seating. After waiting for a server, she finally arrived and took our drink order. Upon her return we tried to place our order and was told that they were out of dollar crabs but we could purchase a dozen for 65 bucks. WHAT! Will not be back!

Any time you want good fast service and fresh food Windsor Inn is the go to spot. We somewhat amazed we were seated fast. On a good day the Windsor is Crowded with a wait. They are famous for their cream of crab soup but I'm allergic to crabs. Yes my life sucks. I'm what you would consider a light drinker. I asked the server for a fruity light drink. She stared at me so hard and cleared her throat. She said" Miss, we normally don't get orders to Go light but I will try my best to find something for you" then she walked away. One of the customers sitting across was looking at me too. Like I was crazy and stated "we come here for their (Windsor) strong drinks!" When the server can back with a Mai Tai I should have known that I was in for a ride. She waited till I took my first sip. Yes it was fruity but boy did it pack a punch. The salad bar had everything from sliced beets to bacon bits. All items on the salad bar were fresh. They also offer Maryland crab soup (red) and chicken dumpling soup and their signature hot bread with butter all unlimited. I treated myself to the Steak and Shrimp Alfredo dinner. The steak was cooked to perfection. It literally melted in my mouth. I want to shake the cooks hand. Between the soup, salad, hot bread and steak I was full and had to dog-bag the Shrimp Alfredo and veggie. Windsor Inn is that cozy comfortable spot to chill. Whether its with your girls or your man.

This place is the go to if Corinthians is packed. They have remodeled with huge flat screen TVs on the wall. They've opened up the lounge atmosphere. They still have a separate room for those who like to have a quieter evening. I'm giving 3 starts because waitress was really rude when trying to get seated for 7pm reservation. She seemed over worked. Service was slow once seated. The food was good. Different specials mon thru fri and all day sat/sun for 17.99. Good place to check out. I tried the Cajun salmon broccoli and crab cake special. It was pretty good! Another person in my party had the wings.

Have had enough. They continue to insult their patrons with extremely high prices for the drinks that use to be much cheaper during happy hour. They have discontinued happy hour and drinks are now $8 and $10 dollars. Recently we ordered two rounds of 4 drinks and with the check was $96. Minorities have kept this place alive for years and they give nothing back in return.. I plan to boycott this place until they realize that we are loyal patrons who need to be respected. They still have happy hour prices at their other locations but refuse to give us a break at this location.

This is my go to seafood spot whenever I'm in town visiting friends and family. The crab cake is big, little to no breaking, and full of delicious lumpy goodness. It is what a Maryland crab cake should be and I know I won't be disappointed if I show up to Windsor in in search of crab cakes. But beyond the crab cakes there are other delicious menu items and things to try here. The crab dip appetizer is my personal fav. Creamy crab dip served on Texas toast! Delicious. And if you run out of toast the warm bread at the salad station is just as good. It is warm homemade tasting and delicious. The salad bar itself is meh. There's always two soup options and some ice cream to choose from, the lettuce is iceberg and the dressings and toppings are not on the low calorie side of things so I usually skip the salad opting to throw my calories away on crab dip and hot wings instead! If it's your first time here, the Windsor inn sampler is great for trying a lot of the appetizer options at once and you get a taste of the crab balls which will only have you wanting to order something with a crab cake, hey no surprises there. The chicken wings are exceptional. The BBQ and old bay flavors are my favorites. They also serve crabs year round. When I'm craving some crabs and want to grab some in a low key and casual environment this is where I go. The sizes are usually acceptable. If I'm looking for jumbo crabs I don't go here, but if I'm looking for some sizable ones Windsor Inn won't disappoint. Service here is also always pretty good. The waitresses are friendly and check in pretty frequently. I've never had a negative dining experience. Once there were some Mexican ladies bad mouthing customers (saying things like her arms are the size of my legs, or this must be the only time she eats salad) that was very tacky and distasteful, but again they weren't the servers they were the ladies who replenished the salad station. They were also speaking in Spanish and probably thinking no one understood them. But again it was just to show how tacky the back of the house staff may be. The front of the house staff were very courteous and everything. But maybe the manager should ensure any employee who may be overheard or seen should be on their best behavior. The setting here is very low key. Windsor Inn has never been packed when I've gone and on the bar side they have karaoke on some nights. I've been coming here for years and will keep coming, so check this place out I love it!

Walked in to what appeared to be a lounge first. Oops! Found the dining area. Stood there a good 3-5 minutes before anyone came over. Server wasn't very friendly and when asked about suggestions on MRI items had nothing. Started with cream of crab soup. Pretty good although the shells I had to continually pick out were annoying. I went with the pork chop and crab cake entree. Pork chop cooked perfectly. Crab cake was great, again tons of shells. Kind of a bummer to be eating and end up with tiny sharp shells in your mouth. Two negatives. They add gratuity to every check. Hence the lack of good service. The other is they do not take American Express.

After coming here for well over ten years, the only thing that is consistent about this place is inconsistency. You may come once and have an awesome experience, then mediocre, then horrible and then do the same thing all over again. I came here this past weekend and my experience bounced between mediocre and horrible. Initially we went here for the crabs alone. We got here around 8:45 Saturday night expecting to get a bite to eat and listen to a few good tunes before leaving. Once we sat down (on the bar side) we asked our waiter if they were having any specials on crabs that night. We knew that they usually had a $29.99 all you can eat (crab, corn on the cob, open salad bar and ice cream) special but we couldn't remember if that was on the bar or dining side. The waiter was a little clueless about that and the menu but why should she be knowledgeable about the menu? 15% gratuity is automatically included. Whatever. Anyway she did tell us that for small male crabs they were $35 a dozen. Normally that wouldn't have been a problem but we thought that was a little steep for some questionable crabs. Being from Baltimore City we can find at least a dozen crab shops within a 5 mile radius for at least $10 cheaper. Whatever. Anyway, we figured we'd just get dinner, drinks and go. We ordered a pound of steamed shrimp (presentation is everything) which came too dried out and in a similar checkerboard lined paper basket from buffalo wild wings. Another in my party ordered some kind of stuffed mushroom crab dish which was literally just enough to fit into a dixie cup and the other person just settled for some buffalo chicken tenders. I felt so sorry for her because those things looked so sad. come to find out she felt sorry for me too after seeing my shrimp. Obviously the look was written all over my face because before I could even dig into my shrimp the waiter asked me were they ok and if I wanted her to take them back. If you had any inclination that I would want to send them back obviously you saw something wrong with them and shouldn't have even brought them out to me. I told her yes and to just bring me some buffalo wings and a red Sangria. Can't go wrong with buffalo wings. Whatever. The buffalo wings had the perfect amount of sauce and spice to them but the meat was too dry. The red Sangria was actually purple and tasted similar to what I would imagine an old lead pipe would taste like. Idk, like tap water or something. It left a horrible metal after taste. Well after the horrible presentation and tasting dinner we decided to just go ahead and get the crabs at this point, at least we would satisfy our craving. Well lets just sat that they were not worth $35, actually they were barely worth the $1 they charge for them Sun-Thur. Would I return again? Probably for crabs only between Sun-Thur and if I'm in the area. No way am I going from E. Baltimore to the deeper end of W. Baltimore county for that garbage. And not to mention that the crowd and the music was straight from the AARP club.

Came here with my wife for dinner. I was surprised to see how spacious this restaurant has become. I have not been here for years. You know when your gonna have a good dinner when you smell good tasting food coming through the door. I decided on the shrimp Alfredo dinner and the grab soup. My wife decide on the steak dinner we both had there salad which was one the best salad we ever had because it was so fresh. The waitress was at this establishment was so so nice. My wife wanted a fruity drink and the waitress went out of her way to get my wife the kind of drink she wanted. I decided on a Long Island Ice Tea man that drink was strong. My wife also told me that her drink was strong. The only thing I can say if you want some good food and a strong drink this is the place to visit. If I could give Windsor Inn a ten I would but I will give this establishment a five star rating and I will definitely visit this establishment again.

Awful service, awful waitress's. They are thieves! Unprofessional, and ridiculous. If you care about not being robbed by a waitress, who overcharges you, then fights you about it, don't go here. This is was my first and last time here. Now I see why. Plus it smells like old bleach water.
